Columbiana American Legion Auxiliary hosts 2025 Buckeye Girls State delegates

COLUMBIANA — Benjamin Firestone Unit #290 American Legion Auxiliary in Columbiana co-sponsored seven students from Columbiana High School, Crestview High School and South Range High School that attended Buckeye Girls State (BGS) 79th annual session held at Bowling Green State University in June 2025.
Delegates attended the August Auxiliary meeting along with their parents and spoke about their experiences at the session. Delegates had the opportunity to learn about city, state and county government while developing their leadership and communication skills.
Delegates included Audrey Barborak, Bella Roush, Jaslin Kaur and Charlee DeVan, Columbiana: Solena deJesus and Kiren Pal, South Range; and Ava Bucey, Crestview.
Joining the Columbiana Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary in sponsoring delegates were the New Waterford Lions, Columbiana Rotary Club, Youngstown Area Business and Professional Club, Vaughn Musser, Vylee Garstick and Melissa Urmson.
