CCBDD bus routes approved
LISBON — Superintendent Bill Devon, Columbiana Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD), told the CCBDD Board of Trustees during Wednesday’s meeting that the board will be purchasing a subscription to Ohio Special Initiatives by Brothers and Sisters (SIBS) beginning in 2026.
He also noted that the fourth Annual Ability Walk and Roll which was held on Aug. 9 at Eastwood Field was well attended by nearly 1,100 people.
Devon also said the board received several nicely written thank you notes from the Aktion Club for sponsoring them to attend their national convention in Pittsburgh.
Board members unanimously voted on and approved 11 items during the meeting.
Items approved include the Robert Bycroft School transportation routes for the 2025-2026 school year; the RBEA three-year labor contract as negotiated; support of The Brightside Project for funding the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at a cost of $7,500; the adjustment of the pay index scale for the school behavioral support specialist effective Aug. 1; the revised board policy for behavior supports, the superintendent’s and assistant superintendent’s professional development plan; an adjustment of the SSA Bachelors index from Jan. 1 and also bringing current the SSA Masters index as presented; the service and support on-call policy which allows for a stipend for individuals performing on-call duties of $210 per full week or $30 a day; to allow board member John Wolf to work an additional job that does not interfere with his board position; and the approval of level one waivers for three clients.
Approval was needed by the board to permit Wolf to work another job because he would have to take vacation time or time without pay for one morning each month for the second job which is a seat on the cemetery board.
Bills were approved for payment as presented to the board.
The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities meets on the third Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the administration building located at 7675 state Route 45, Lisbon. Due to the unavailability of multiple board members for the September meeting, the meeting has been moved up a week and will be held Sept. 10.
