St. Clair Police Department receives multiple reimbursements
ST. CLAIR — Police Chief Brian McKenzie told the St. Clair Township Board of Trustees during Monday’s meeting that the department received two reimbursement checks from the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office for drug seizures/forfeiture money for $1,112.40 and $229.50 drugs seized from users and dealers in the township.
The money could be put into several funds for the police department such as drug education or law enforcement funds Fiscal Officer Deborah Dawson said. She said there are two or three funds, and it just depends on what it’s for. She has a checklist from the prosecutor’s office to help determine which fund the money goes to.
Dawson requested the trustees approve an amendment to the police levy in the amount of $81,416.22 that has been received as revenue for grants and reimbursements and an amendment to the fund to transfer the amount to replace funds paid out. The trustees unanimously approved the request.
Road Foreman Scott Barrett told the trustees that the chip and seal for the year for the township was finished, and they are waiting for line striping to be done.
Trustee Jordan Williams said he received a call from Lt. Matt Bowling, Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department, to report for the second quarter the department received 56 calls.
The trustees approved payment of purchase orders totaling $63,131.22; super blankets certificates totaling $11,852.25 and bills totaling $158,891.98.
There was no new business, old business, resolutions or anyone to speak during public portion.
