Museum of Ceramics puts summer fun on display with picnic basket tablescapes
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Museum of Ceramics is inviting the public to enjoy a whimsical gallery of picnic-themed tablescapes during its Summer Fun on Display: Picnic Basket Tablescape event to be held July 26 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Museum Director Megan Coil describes the tablescapes as creatively designed and inspired by the charm and nostalgia of summertime picnics with each display showcasing a unique expression of style and imagination while highlighting local ceramic wares.
Tablescapes will be judged on creativity.
Additionally, the event celebrating summer will also feature other lighthearted activities reminiscent of East Liverpool’s past and days gone by such as the popular doorknob tossing game, weather permitting, and other games such as Checkers, paper dolls and other old-time games.
Coil will also be posting a display showcasing past times of East Liverpool from the early 1900s showing what residents from that era did for fun.
Guests will be able to indulge in free lemonade and popcorn while browsing through the event and experience other fun surprises for attendees of all ages.
The event is free for the community and open to all ages.
“We’re excited to offer this free event as a way to bring the community together for a fun afternoon,” said Laura Zeh, at the Museum of Ceramics. “It’s the perfect chance to visit the museum this summer, admire locally made ceramics, creative tablescapes, and have a little family fun with games.”
The Museum of Ceramics is located at 400 E. 5th St., East Liverpool.
