EP Yard of the Month

The Town/Country Garden Club of East Palestine has chosen the home of Dave Kibler and Debbie Pilati at 776 Brookdale Ave., East Palestine, for July’s Yard of the Month. The front of the home features a red dogwood tree and flagpole. Across the front of the house one will find impatients, petunias, hostas, blue salvia, snow on the mountain and purple flowering onion plants. Hanging baskets filled with impatients hang from the front porch as comfortable wicker furniture allow for seating. The flower bed has solar lights nestled along the pathway. Having lived in the home for 10 years, Kibler has maintained a vegetable garden with cucumbers, tomatoes and sweet onions, recently harvesting about 100 pounds of sweet onions. Also the backyard features a patio area with wicker furniture, a covered swing and a fire pit. There is also an old rocking chair filled with potted plants and container flowers sitting among the area. The back porch is another area with seating and hanging Boston ferns. The homeowners were given a gift card from Flowers Straight from the Heart. (Submitted photo)
