EP hosting Oldies Show Saturday

EAST PALESTINE — The village of East Palestine is hosting free Oldies Show featuring the musical group “Oldies On Tour” at the East Palestine High School auditorium Saturday as part of its Sesquicentennial Celebration.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the concert scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The concert is free to the public. However, donations will be accepted at the door for anyone wishing to do so.

The show features music that harkens back to the happy days and a golden age of rock & roll. It celebrates many of the rock and pop hits that were so very popular in the 50s, 60s, and early 70s.

The show features performances of favorites like The Beach Boys “Surfin’ USA,” Johnny River’s “Mountain of Love,” The Ronettes “Be My Baby,” Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou,” Johnny Rivers’ “Poor Side of Town,” Creedence Clearwater’s “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” and Linda Ronstadt’s “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me.”

The vocalists and musicians for the “Oldies On Tour” group includes: Denny Sugar, Bob Figley, Dave Figley, Jim Figley, Marlene Figley, Tom Figley, Janet Bunts, Hannah Pasco, Traci Patterson, and Jim Wilson.

East Palestine’s Cardio Drumming group will open the concert with a performance to a number of their oldies favorites.
