East Liverpool man killed in motorcycle accident
STEUBENVILLE — An early morning motorcycle crash that killed an East Liverpool man remains under investigation.
According to the State Highway Patrol’s Steubenville post, Graig A. Bartlett II, 48, was northbound at 1:41 a.m. on state Route 7, just north of the Franklin Street exit ramp to Toronto, when he lost control of his motorcycle.
Bartlett veered off the right side of the roadway along the right shoulder and grass before he struck a guardrail end.
Bartlett then became separated from the motorcycle and was cast over the guardrail into a treeline, where he ultimately passed from his injuries.
The press release said he was not licensed to drive the Harley-Davidson Electra glide nor was he wearing a helmet.
Investigators also suspect that alcohol was a contributing factor to the single-vehicle crash.
Additional details remain under investigation.
