The week of June 15 is national Bee City week. The Salem Women’s Federation at 271 S. Broadway Ave. has one of three recognized Bee City Gardens in the city of Salem. To honor Bee City week on Wednesday, June 18, the Mahoning Columbiana County Beekeeper Association will present a program titled “Sustainable backyard Bee Hives.” The program will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Smucker House and a tour of the Smucker House pollinator garden will follow. Honey samples and sales will be available.
