COLUMBIANA — Dr. Lisa Braden believes in a family approach to wellness.

For the past nine years, she has been seeing patients of the human and critter variety for their chiropractic adjustments on East Park Avenue. These days her environment just looks a little different.

Blue Ribbon Chiropractic, where Braden operates, just moved down the street to her new building at 610 E. Park.

A fourth-generation equestrian, she grew up in New Waterford, graduating from Crestview High School and then from Youngstown State University in 2011. Braden explained that when she had been having difficulty with one of her show horses while she was shadowing a vet during her pre-veterinary studies at YSU, that is when she was introduced to animal chiropractic.

After acknowledging that she never had the animal “adjusted,” the horse’s pain subsided a few days after the vet’s adjustment.

Braden was fascinated and decided to pursue chiropractic medicine as a specialty, earning her doctorate in 2015 at New York Chiropractic College.

Chiropractic medicine focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system outside of traditional medicine. “(We use) the latest healing technologies to restore you to pain-free health, quickly and easily,” examining all the contributing root factors to your issue, she explained. This can include work and home stressors, overall body condition, genetic and postural habits.

Braden is AVCA (American Veterinary Chiropractic Association) certified in adjusting all animals whether a horse or a chicken.

The move from her previous 101 E. Park Ave. location was necessary as Braden’s clinic operations had outgrown that space. The 610 E. Park Ave. property, which had housed Heck’s restaurant, became available, so after razing that building and erecting this one for her dual purpose use for human and critter patients, she recently held her grand opening.

She has added Dr. Penny Farmer, who offers acupuncture and holistic vet services, to Blue Ribbon and is looking to add another human chiropractic doctor at the start of 2026, allowing her to increase her veterinary chiropractic practice.

Braden also makes barn calls for her larger animal clientele.

Her new office also can help animals rehab post-surgery using a variety of methods, like an underwater treadmill.

Blue Ribbon Chiropractic does not accept insurance.

Braden said she believes being a cash only practice allows her to best serve her customers, as she isn’t just treating them based with external pressure from health insurance providers.
