SALINEVILLE — Southern Local High School senior Logan McCartney has been chosen as the Salineville Kiwanis Student of the Month for April.

McCartney, the son of Heather McCartney of Salineville, has demonstrated excellent academic performance at SLHS by earning a 3.80 GPA and ranking 12th in his class. He is a member of the National Honor Society, a four-year participant in FFA and an Art Club member for two years.

He has also demonstrated impressive athletic abilities as a four-year letterman in cross country and earned various accolades, including EOAC Champion in 2024 and being a regional qualifier for the past three years, plus All OVAC Team, EOAC First Team and All County Second Team. McCartney has also lettered for three years in track and field, two years in bowling and earned the Academic All-Ohio Bowler Award this year.

Following graduation, he would like to join the workforce and pursue a career in landscaping.
