EL National Day of Prayer
EAST LIVERPOOL — For more than four decades, area pastors have gathered on the National Day of Prayer to celebrate their faith with a continental breakfast.
This year’s event, which will be held at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, in the East Liverpool Area Community Center, 110 Maine Blvd.
Advance tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased at area churches, the community center or from committee members, who include Ernest Peachey, Mike Dyer, Larry Rose, James Massie, Gini Jackson, Jim Lewis and John Richman.
Dyer and Richman will oversee the event, which will include presentation of the colors by the Tri-State Burial Group.
The theme will be “Pour Out to the God of HOPE and Be Filled.”
Rev. Mark Blakely of the Wellsville First Christian Church will deliver the keynote address.
Following the event, the community is invited to gather on the front steps of East Liverpool city hall at noon for prayer. No tickets are required, just the desire to pray for God’s blessings on the community.
