34th Annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign
YOUNGSTOWN — Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley invites the community to participate in the 34th Annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign during March, April and May.
Harvest for Hunger is a food and funds drive that takes place each year to help the Food Bank restock its shelves for the spring and summer months. Those interested in participating in the Harvest for Hunger campaign by conducting a food and/or funds drive to benefit the Food Bank should contact Barb Presby at 330-792-5522 ext. 111 or visit www.mahoningvalleysecondharvest.org for information.
Check Out Hunger, a cashier-led fundraising effort in Giant Eagle and GetGo stores across the region, gives customers the opportunity to donate $2, $5, $10 or another preferred amount at the register beginning Feb. 27 through May 31. All funds raised and food collected remain in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Last year, Harvest for Hunger raised over $351,000 and collected nearly 14,000 pounds of food, which provided over 1.7 million meals in the area.
The 2025 Harvest for Hunger sponsors are Giant Eagle, 21 WFMJ & WBCB, The Tribune/The Vindicator, Cumulus Radio Stations HOT 101, K-105, Y-103 and Z-104, and UFCW Local 880.
