County dog licenses deadline is January 31

LISBON — The Columbiana County Auditor’s Office is reminding residents that the last day to buy 2025 Columbiana County dog licenses is Friday, Jan. 31, without an added penalty of $12 per license. One-year license is $12, three-year license is $36 and permanent is $120.

The preferred method of purchasing a 2025 dog licenses is online or by mail. The website is https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Columbiana. Make sure to be on the correct website when purchasing dog licenses. It should clearly state it is the Columbiana County Auditor’s website with a picture of Auditor Nancy Milliken on the homepage. Fraudulent sites have been reported. A convenience fee will be assessed for all electronic transactions.

Residents will be able to buy licenses in person at the auditor’s office, the dog pound or at one of the satellite providers. Permanent and three-year licenses can be bought online, by mail or at the auditor’s office only. The auditor’s office and the dog pound will be accepting Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards, in addition to cash, checks and money orders. If paying with cash, bring exact amount.

Check the auditor’s website for available hours for satellite locations; or by calling the auditor’s office at the number above. These satellite providers only sell licenses through Jan. 31. They can accept cash, check or money orders only. Make checks payable to the Columbiana County Auditor. Payment at satellite locations will be $12.75 per license.

Satellite providers are: Salem BMV on Second Street in Salem, Columbiana County Humane Society in Salem, Hanoverton Hardware in Hanoverton, Discount Drug Mart in Lisbon and Alleycat Spay & Neuter in Calcutta.
