School Notes

Myleigh Jackson

The Wellsville Care and Share Community Club has chosen Myleigh Jackson as Student of the Month for September 2024. Myleigh is the daughter of Amy and Jesse Jackson of Wellsville.

Myleigh has been on the honor roll for three years, was recognized at the 3.75 Honors Banquet for three years, is a two-year member of the National Honor Society where she has served as president, and has been on the Kent State Dean’s List. She was also selected to represent Wellsville High School as a delegate at Buckeye Girls State. Not only will Myleigh earn her high school diploma in the spring, but she is expected to also meet the requirements to earn an Associate of Science degree from Kent State University.

During high school, Myleigh has been a three-year member of Leo Club, Spirit Club, Varsity W and a two-year member of Y-Teens. She has also participated in Yearbook and was the Junior Class Vice President. Myleigh has served as captain of both the volleyball and basketball teams and has been a member of the track team. Myleigh has volunteered her time as a coach for the Z-Kapp Modern Striders and by working at the school’s Blood Drive.

After high school, Myleigh plans to attend Robert Morris University and major in Early Childhood and Special Education.

Baylee Haddox

Baylee Haddox has been named the Wellsville Care and Share Community Club Student of the Month for October 2024. Baylee is the daughter of Josh Haddox and Kelly Haddox of Wellsville.

For the past three years, Baylee has been on the honor roll and recognized at the 3.75 Honors Banquet. She has been a member of the WHS band where she received the Director’s Award. Baylee has been a member of Art Club, Publications, played volleyball her freshman year, and JO volleyball her freshman and sophomore years. While she was in the Landscaping and Environmental Design program at the CCCTC, she was a member of the Soil Judging team.

Outside of school, Baylee has given her time cleaning the CCCTC, working concession stands, serving free Thanksgiving Dinner, and participating in toy drives. She is currently employed as a server at Some Place Else in Wellsville.

After high school, Baylee plans to attend Wheeling University and major in Criminal Justice.

Jake Bates

The Wellsville Care and Share Community Club has chosen Jake Bates as the Student of the Month for November 2024. Jake is the son of Brittany Blake of Wellsville.

Jake was selected for being a positive role model to all the Wellsville students. His teachers note that Jake is a hard worker and always gives his best effort. He comes to school with a smile on his face and handles everyone with kindness.

Jake is involved in the Leo Club and helps in stocking and maintaining the Tiger Closet and the Tiger Pantry. He has won multiple awards as a four-year member of the Wellsville High School Wrestling Team: Coaches Award his junior year, Most Heart Award his freshman year and was the OHSAA Courageous Student his sophomore year. Jake also has perfect attendance for wrestling and has never missed a practice.

Jake is undecided about the next step he will take after graduation but his future looks bright.
