Salem Halloween parade set for October 30
SALEM — The annual Halloween parade will be held Wednesday.
Parade Director Dennis Plegge said that this year’s parade will be held on Wednesday the day before Halloween to avoid intersecting with the city’s trick or treat hours, which are set for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Lineup for the parade will begin at 5:15 p.m. outside the Memorial Building, with step-off set for 6 p.m. The parade will proceed west from State Street to Broadway Avenue, and south on Broadway ending on Pershing Street. Plegge urged anyone interested in marching in this year’s parade to do so and to arrive at the memorial building by 5:30 p.m.
“Anyone that wants to come and march in the parade, feel free to come and join,” said Plegge.
Plegge also noted that following the parade Salem AMVETS Post 45 will be holding a trunk-or-treat event.
