Nights on North Market set for May 10 in Minerva

MINERVA - Visit downtown Minerva for Nights on North Market, Friday, May 10, for live music, art, food and drink, and shopping.

The Market Street Art Spot will host a reception, 5 to 9 p.m., featuring "Birds Eye View," a juried invitational group show, live music by Tom Freeland and Friends, and light refreshments.

West High Street, between North Market and Main streets, will be the site of a popup pocket park for the evening with live high energy acoustic music from Ren Rocks, 6 to 9 p.m., sponsored by Dunkin's Kennel, Boarding, & Grooming. There will also be a variety of games and activities, including a carnival game, and more.

Crafters, vendors and local organizations will be set up on High Street and ducks will be for sale for the Homecoming Roxy Theatre Duck Race.

Shops open downtown will include Vintage Home by IlluminArt and the Market Mercantile, until 8 p.m.; SummerGirl Studio, noon to 7 p.m.; Witchy Ways, until 7 p.m.; and the Minerva Area Historical Society's Haas Museum will be open 6 to 8 p.m.

Walker's Cafe, Minerva Perk and the Komfort Zone will be open late. Cajun Jay's, Judy & Adam's Concessions, Kona Ice, Canestraro's fresh-squeezed lemonade and 330 Popcorn Co. will also be on High Street.

The village's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect 5 to 10 p.m., and DORA beverages may be purchased at Sandy Springs Brewing Company, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant, Stoney Inn, and the Normandy Inn. The SSBC Arcade will also be open.
