Graduation time is doubly-special for Owen Bacon.
On Sunday he will graduate from Crestview High School as a honors student. He also has earned an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Cybersecurity from Kent State University.
Bacon, who will not turn 18 until this Friday, was a well-rounded high school student. He was a two-sport letter winner in track and football, a state-qualifying member of the speech and debate team, and has had roles in drama performances including the lead role in the production of "Little Shop of Horrors" this past spring. He now has the lead in the upcoming high school All-Area Honors musical "Les Miserables." Most importantly, he is a National Honor Society member and received the Heads Above the Rest award this year for his exemplary ACT score.
Bacon will next attend Geneva College. He will play football as an offensive lineman and enroll in the Computer Science/Cybersecurity 3+1 program. This program will allow him to graduate with a master's degree in four years.
He is the son of Tobin and Sarah Bacon. His father teaches and coaches at Crestview High School.
