Log House Museum hours
The Historical Society Log House Museum, Columbiana, summer hours will be observed Fridays and Saturdays 2-4 p.m. June, July and August, open to the public. Summer Reading program passport stamps available during this time.
Beloit BPA, council meeting
The Beloit Board of Public Affairs and Village Council will change their regular meeting from June 10 to June 12. The board of public affairs meets at 6 p.m. followed by council at 7 p.m., both at village hall.
Youth fishing day
The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park will be hosting the 10th annual Doug Fodrey Youth Fishing Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Beaver Creek State Park. Young anglers don't have to have any fishing experience; Kevin Fodrey and his friends will be on hand to help them. Poles and bait are provided. Parents are permitted to help their children, but the actual fishing is just for ages 15 years and under. All fish are catch and release. There is no charge for the fishing derby. A drawing will be held at 2 p.m. at the trading post in Pioneer Village for a rod and reel in two different age groups. The winner must be present. The event is held in conjunction with the monthly Village Comes Alive in Pioneer Village. Gaston's Mill will be operating and various pioneer crafts will be demonstrated throughout the village. There will also be games and crafts for the kids.
Building Blocks VBS
The Lisbon Church of the Nazarene, 505 N. Market St., will host its Building Blocks for Jesus Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 15 through 18. For information call Gayla Thompson at 234-567-0867.
Story stroll new location
The Lepper Library Story Stroll continues at a new location. "I Went Walking" by Sue Williams and illustrator Julie Vivas has moved the Lisbon Pool Exercise Trail beginning now through June 6.
Revitalization district hearing
A public hearing has been set for 6:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to the Salem City Council's next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday where they are expected to consider approving a new revitalization district. The purpose of the meeting is to allow public questions and comments prior to council's decisions, and any and all interested parties that wish to speak will be heard.
