EAST LIVERPOOL -- Except for about 200 feet of roadway on the west bound side of the road, state Route 39 reopened around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon following a road closure due to a mudslide earlier in the day.

East Liverpool Safety Service Director, who had been on site working with the Columbiana County Department of Engineers and the city's road department to get the road reopened, said the mudslide had one lane of state Route 39 West blocked.

"The County Engineer's Office has been very helpful to us. They brought down some traffic control devices to help so we can get one lane opened back up." Jones said. "Definitely appreciate the county engineer's help."
