‘Hops for Tots’ on tap in Columbiana

COLUMBIANA — Funds raised at this fall’s Columbiana Craft Beerfest will help upgrade a playground inside Firestone Park, the event’s committee announced on Wednesday — branding the event “Columbiana Craft BeerFest 2024: Hops for Tots.”

“This is a good fit for us because our volunteers are committed to supporting Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park, and we’ve been aware of the need to bring the well-loved playground up-to-date, ensuring inclusivity for guests of all abilities and every age to enjoy,” said Sean Zentner, Columbiana Craft BeerFest Chair.

According to an emailed press release, the Columbiana Project Playground is a local initiative committed to replacing the existing Funland children’s playground in Columbiana’s Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park with a new, dynamic, fun, safe and fully accessible playground which will serve generations of children in the broader community and beyond. Funland at Firestone Park was built in the 1990s and has exceeded its 20-year-life expectancy.

Now in its fourth year, the event — which features local breweries, live music, food trucks and vendors — benefits a different area charitable project. Last year, the beer fest helped support the Firestone Stadium Complex Restoration (a community-wide effort involving Columbiana Athletic Boosters, Columbiana Exempted Village School District, the city and private citizens) and was dubbed the “Clipper Sipper”.

This year’s event is set for September 21 from 4-8 p.m., at Town Center in Firestone Farms. Cost for “Hops for Tots” is $30 in advance or $40 at the gate and includes 10 tasting tickets, a “master crafter” tasting glass, access to music, food and vendors and products from 10 breweries. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter the fest.

For more information on the beer fest, including sponsorship opportunities, please contact Zentner at (333) 518-7170, info@ColumbianaCraftBeerFest.com, or visit ColumbianaCraftBeerFest.com.

Starting at $2.99/week.
