LEETONIA -- First-grade students at Leetonia Elementary celebrated becoming published authors for the sixth year in a row with their classmates and teachers. Mrs. Hames' class published a book called "Amazing Animals." Mrs. Temple's class published a book called "Animals of the World." Both books were published by Studentreasures Publishing Company.
Each child in the first grade, researched information on an animal of their choice.
Each child wrote information about their animal, and then they illustrated a page about their animal.
Students cheered on their classmates and encouraged them as they read their part of the book to their classmates.
Both classes celebrated with an author celebration party.
The children and teachers are so proud of the books. Publishing a book is a great accomplishment for first graders.
