EAST LIVERPOOL -- In February, the Columbiana County Drug Task Force and the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office made an arrest after a search warrant turned up over 1 kilogram of various drugs and several thousand dollars in cash.
The drug task force and the sheriff's office searched a home on Cadmus Street in East Liverpool on Feb. 12. They found just over 1 kilogram of what they say was suspected counterfeit pressed fentanyl pills, which were disguised as prescription Percocet. About 56 grams of suspected cocaine and over $7,000 in cash were also found in the home.
The home's owner, Joseph Desarro, who has there at the time of the search, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.
Additional charges are pending results from lab testing.
The Salem Perry Township police, Lisbon, Columbiana, St. Clair Township, East Liverpool and Columbiana City police K-9 unit assisted the drug task force and sheriff's office in the investigation and search warrant.
