The United Community Scholarship Foundation will hold its annual all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m.-noon, Saturday, March 2.
Due to the construction at school, this year's breakfast will be held at the Winona Friends Church, 4615 Whinnery Road. Omelets famous across the tri-county region -- choices include ham, bacon, cheese, onion, mushrooms, and green peppers -- are cooked to taste. Also made right on the spot are homemade fruit crepes and doughnuts. Hot and cold beverages are included.
United Elementary students created table placemats for the breakfast. Grade level placemats were selected as "best in class" and will be on display for viewing at the "Egg"stravaganza breakfast. Among those "best in class" winners and pictured with their placemat artwork are, from left, Laney Kennedy, Eli Zeisler, Kylie Thomas, Colbie Koons, Landon Simmons, Mary Zehentbauer and Kaliyah Howell. All of the placemats created by elementary students will be used on tables throughout the breakfast. Cost for the all-you-can-eat breakfast is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 4 to 12. Under 4 are free. All proceeds from Saturday's breakfast will benefit the United Community Scholarship Foundation, which awarded over $18,000 in scholarships to United Local graduates last year.
