Winona Ruritan Spring Sausage Sale

The Winona Ruritan Club Spring Sausage Sale will be held from 7 a.m. to noon March 16 at Winona Friends Church, 4687 Whinnery Road. The sale will feature whole hog sausage vacuum sealed in 1-pound packages of bulk, patties and smoked links.

East Liverpool garbage schedule

Trash will be collected from East Liverpool city residences Monday as the Refuse and Recycling Department employees are scheduled to work on President's Day. Residents whose trash is normally collected on Mondays are asked to have their trash set out at the curb for pick up as usual. Trash service on any of the city routes will not be affected by the national holiday.

Mount Union Wind Ensemble Concert

The Performing Arts Department of the University of Mount Union will present a Wind Ensemble Concert, under the direction of Lori Burse, on Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. The concert will feature works by Harry Sosnik, Jean Sibelius, Ernesto Lecuona, Carmen Dragon, Clifton Williams and John Philip Sousa. Mount Union students performing as part of the wind ensemble include: Katrina Asano of Alliance, Josiah Haas of Salem and Ella Scofinsky of Beloit. Community members participating include Peter Blanchard of Beloit. The concert is free and open to the public. For information, contact the Visual and Performing Arts Office at 330-823-2473.

Quakertown Super Kids meeting

Quakertown Super Kids will hold an organizational meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Salem Chamber building, 210 E. State St. The meeting is open to committee members, volunteers, parents and interested citizens. The organization will be making plans for the annual soap box derby race. This year, the race will be held on Saturday, June 1. The race is for special needs children between the ages of 7-18. Everything, including soap box cars are provided for the racers. All racers will race in a double car with a "ghost" driver controlling the car. Each year, the organization sends three racers to the National Super Kids Race, held at Derby Downs in Akron. St. Gabriel fish fry

St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva will begin its fish fry from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Friday Feb. 23 through March 22. The meals include fish dinners (baked or fried) with a choice of sides (fries or baked potato or rigatoni), coleslaw, applesauce, bread, beverage dessert. Cost is $12 for adult fish dinner, $7 for adult rigatoni dinner, $5 for children (6-12) fish dinner, $4 for children rigatoni dinner and free for children under 6 years old.
