WELLSVILLE -- The Buckeye Water District Board of Trustees adopted two resolutions during last weeks meeting.
The board, with an all-in-favor vote with the exception of board member James Hoppel who was absent and Board President David Dawson who abstained, approve a resolution to enter negotiations with Dallis Dawson and Associates to provide engineering services for water line extension projects, system repairs and maintenance within the district's service area for the calendar year 2024 and construction management for a new maintenance building.
The board also passed a resolution authoring the district to enter into an agreement to advance the tuition cost of $5,500 for a CDL training program for employee Greg Beatty.
Beatty is to begin the seven-week training at the end of the month.
The board approved the treasurer's report, operations report and manager's report as presented to them.
In his report to the board, District Manager Al DeAngelis said employee Justin Wright passed his Class 1 Water Treatment Operators licenses.
The district, after interviewing Dallis Dawson and Associates, decided to go with the firm for engineering and architectural service for the new office/service building for the district.
DeAngelis also noted that the district has been awarded the Ohio EPA's Division of Drinking and Ground Water Grant which will be used to purchase a leak detection correlator.
He also said the backhoe which was purchased by the district could be delivered within the next month.
The Buckeye Water District meets the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. in council chambers in Wellsville Village Hall, 1200 Main Street. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 21.
