16th Annual Founders Day Pancake Breakfast

LISBON -- The Lisbon Landmark Foundation will hold its 16th Annual Founders Day Pancake Breakfast Benefit from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lisbon First United Methodist Church, 114 E. Washington St.

Landmark Foundation President Barb DeCort said tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children. All proceeds from the breakfast will go to preserving historic buildings in the downtown, she said.

"The annual Pancake Breakfast is a great way to celebrate Lisbon's 221st birthday," said DeCort, noting that proceeds go to help the restoration of historic buildings in the downtown. "The work the Foundation is doing benefits all of Lisbon."

Lisbon was founded 221 years ago and is the state's second-oldest village. Many of the buildings in the downtown date from that period.

"We know that old buildings are where new businesses can grow and thrive in Lisbon – historic buildings are small business incubators for local entrepreneurs," she said.

Pondi's Restaurant and Bar Operating Partner Chef Treg Steves will again be flipping pancakes as part of the breakfast, and Columbiana County Commissioners Mike Halleck, Roy Paparodis and Tim Weigle will be on hand.

Pondi's, Save-a-Lot, Discount Drug Mart and Lib's Coffee are helping sponsor the event and have donated food.

McKinley Elementary School children will be submitting drawings of the Columbiana County Courthouse which will be judged by the commissioners.
