In celebration of 100 Days of School, Crestview Elementary Kindergarten took on the theme "building up to 100." Kindergarten and first-grade classes teamed up with Hammond Construction, the construction manager for Crestview's new K-12 campus, to bring the future school building into students' imaginations. Kindergarten students were tasked with creating a playground with straws, tape, and paper in collaborative groups to imagine what they want their new playground to look like. First graders created a flag pole for the new school building using paper clips and straws. The project finished with a visit from Hammond Construction representative Kim Adams, who showed the students the process of building a school using renderings of the new Crestview K-12 building, showed drone videos of a project in progress, showed construction equipment, and read the book "If I Built a School" to both groups of students. She then viewed student projects in each classroom to celebrate students' imaginations and encourage their creativity. (Submitted photo)
