BELOIT -- The West Branch school board will be interviewing applicants for its vacant seat Monday.
The board will hold a special meeting at 3 p.m. in the high school conference room for an executive session to begin interviews of the candidates. No action will be taken.
Applicants include William Dawes, Peggy Shaver, Derek Day, Scott Dean, Debbie Helm, Scott Close and Aaron Hawk.
The board has until Jan. 30 to select a new member after Hawk did not seek re-election in November. Mikki Kanagy was re-elected on that ballot. If the board is unable to select an applicant, Mahoning County Probate Court Judge Robert N. Rusu Jr. will appoint one.
During the interview process, the board will have the opportunity to learn more about the applicants and discuss their visions for the West Branch Local Schools, according to press released issued by the district Friday afternoon.
