COLUMBIANA - State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel Thursday announced her re-election campaign for her second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. Robb Blasdel represents the 79th House District, which encompasses the majority of Columbiana County and all of Carroll County.
"It is my honor to serve the hardworking people of the 79th district in the Ohio House. I've dedicated my first term to listening and understanding the needs and concerns of my district, and fighting for our fundamental rights," Robb Blasdel said in a written statement. "I look forward to continuing to be the voice for my constituents of Columbiana and Carroll counties while we persistently make Ohio a better and stronger place to grow a business and build a family."
As the only first-term legislator on the House Finance Committee, Robb Blasdel supported a momentous transportation budget, which included a series of rail safety measures and a historic investment in roads and bridges across the state of Ohio; She supported a conservative State Operating Budget that simplified and lowered individual taxes, reduced the Commercial Activity Tax, and provided relief to small business owners. The budget also indexed the homestead exemption to inflation, ensuring that seniors and veterans are protected from increases in property taxes. Additionally, the current budget provides notable investments in public education as well as expanded voucher programs for universal school choice, and an investment in scholarship and workforce programs to keep Ohio's best and brightest.
Robb Blasdel is a lifelong resident of Columbiana County. She and her husband, Chuck Blasdel, reside in Columbiana with their two daughters, Presley and Raegan, and attend Greenford Christian Church.
