WELLSVILLE – The Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary held its October meeting at Some Place Else in Wellsville. Nancy Dicken led the prayer.
President Nancy Perkins opened the business meeting. Amy Johnson offered the minutes and Sharon Walker provided the treasurer’s report.
Barb Lipp and Perkins attended the DKG State Convention in Columbus. The state’s initiative for this year was designated as “Domestic Violence.” Therefore, the chapter is going to support the local Christina House by bringing needed items such as paper products, pillows, dish towels, etc. to the November meeting.
Gayle Noel was presented a 40-year membership pin by Perkins.
Pam Todd was designated as the webmaster for the chapter.
After the dinner meeting, the program continued at the River Museum hosted by Tom and Joan Davidson. The museum is a picturesque 1870 Victorian house overlooking the Ohio River. The docents shared the importance of this home’s location to transportation, commercial industry and the production of pottery. They offered a tour of the museum’s three floors of artifacts, all of which have been graciously donated. Anyone wanting to learn more can visit Wellsville Historical Society’s Facebook page.
