On Oct. 11, both New Waterford and Columbiana fire departments came to Crestview Elementary to celebrate Fire Safety Week. The fire departments observed and evaluated the fire drill, then spent the day with students. Students learned about the equipment the firefighters wear, the importance of smoke detectors and got to explore a couple fire trucks. Staff members even got to climb the ladder while students cheered them on. (Submitted photo)
