Salem Music Study Club
The Salem Music Study Club, a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church parlor. A brief meeting will be followed by a program presented by Peggy Elliott on John Phillip Sousa; members will play music from his works. Breast cancer awareness
The Community Resource Center in East Liverpool is sponsoring a breast cancer awareness luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at Memories, Meetings and More, 1571 Pennsylvania Ave., East Liverpool. Glamunster Castle Oct. 21-22
The Castle Crusaders are giving Glamorgan Castle a spooky touch for Halloween. For two days, the Alliance landmark will be transformed into Glamunster Castle with the historic structure decked out in spooky decor with plenty of spots perfect for taking photos. Hours of the event are 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 21 and noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 22. Visitors are encouraged to come in costume. Treat bags will be given to the children. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. All profits will go toward upkeep of the castle, which was the home of William Henry Morgan, who owned and was the president of Morgan Engineering, Alliance's largest employer at the time the structure was completed in 1905. Glamorgan Castle is on the National Register of Historic Places and Ohio Historical Inventory. The Crusaders are a nonprofit, 501(c)3 group of volunteers who help Alliance City Schools Board of Education maintain the historical integrity of the building. Tours of all four floors are given from 1 to 2 p.m. every Friday for a $10 donation per person. Glamorgan Castle is located at 200 Glamorgan St. in Alliance.
Breakfast at Smith Grange
Smith Grange, 11090 Beloit Snodes Road, will host a public breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday. Cost is $11 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6 to 12 and free for ages 5 and under. Dine in or carry out.
