EP Home Tours
EAST PALESTINE -- The Town & Country Garden Club of East Palestine will host its 2023 Home Tours, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!," from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11.
Tickets cost $12 each and can be purchased in advance at Runnion's Originals (until Oct. 28), T & M Hardware, Fuller's Hardware, Flower's Straight From the Heart, 1820 House, Bea's Insurance and Pewter Peddler (Columbiana). They can also be purchased at any of the homes on the days of the tour.
There will be other events held by the Friends of the Library, East Palestine Log Cabin, Unity Grange (soup and sandwich luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and a tree display at Beas Insurance. For information visit The Town & Country Garden Club of East Palestine, Ohio on Facebook.
Homes on the tour include "Primitive Christmas: House and Collections" at Claybrook Drive, "Oh Christmas Tree! Oh, Christmas Tree!" at 850 Kenmar Drive, "Fall into Christmas" at 407 N. Market St., "Christmas on Ice" on Park Drive. Other happenings include "Christmas Tree Lane" at Bea's Insurance, popcorn; "Frozen" from EP Friends of Library, snacks; soup and sandwich luncheon in the basement of Unity Grange, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; "Antique Christmas" at the EP Log Cabin, snack.
Holiday Art
The OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers is hosting a Holiday Garden Art Series in which individuals can participate in one or all three sessions. The first session will be held Nov. 18 with a Holiday Container class at $25. Participants will learn how to turn pots into holiday masterpieces. The session will cover form and style. Bring 12-inch containers with soil and receive help to design the container. All other greenery and fillers will be provided. The second session will be held Dec. 2 with a Holiday Gnome class at $30. Participants will take everyday pine branches and turn them into something fun and unexpected for the holiday season, a holiday gnome for display. All supplies will be provided. The third and final session will be held Dec. 9 with a Holiday Centerpiece class at $25. Participants will make festive centerpieces for the holiday season. All supplies will be provided. BW scholars
BEREA, Ohio - Area students were among over 700 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall who earned more than $13.1 million in scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. The following local students earned scholarships:
Jd Crouse of North Lima, a graduate of South Range High School majoring in sport management, earned a $15,000 Fellows' Scholarship.
Isaac Laflame of Lisbon, a graduate of Salem High School majoring in business administration, earned a $17,000 Deans' Scholarship.
Donnie Oesch of Salem, a graduate of Salem High School majoring in sport management, earned a $19,000 Trustees' Scholarship.
Braeden Stallworth of New Waterford, a graduate of Crestview High School, earned a $17,000 Deans' Scholarship.
