COLUMBIANA -- Graduates of Columbiana High School Class of 1973 celebrated their 50th year anniversary over the weekend of Street Fair with an informal gathering at Birdfish Friday and a porch party at the Columbiana Women's Club Village Gathering. Forty-eight graduates and 20 spouses attended the two events, with attendees from Oregon, California, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Opening remarks were given Friday by Class President Robert Barnes, and the Rev. William Steele gave an invocation. During Saturday's event, music from the '70s was played from a playlist compiled by Dave Frances from classmate's requests.
Tribute boards were displayed in memory of 17 classmates that have passed away since graduation.
The reunion was funded by donations only and after all costs have been covered, a donation will be made to the Columbiana Booster Club Stadium Restoration Fund.
Committee members included Susan Drotleff, Diane Detwiler Hardenbrook, Robert Barnes, Ginny Pritchard Perkins, Dave Frances and Deb Detwiler.
