PERRY TOWNSHIP -- Township trustees approved several personnel matters in its Aug. 28 meeting.
The meeting saw trustees unanimously approve a pair of expenditures for the fire department including approval to pay Derek Day $250 to conduct an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course for department fire fighters, and the purchase of three sets of boots, six barrier hoods and six pairs of fire gloves for a total cost of $2,040. Other personnel matters included unanimous approval for the hire of new part-time police officer Nathaniel Kramer effective Aug. 21.
Other business included discussion of an Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority policy and approval of a motion declaring the property at 1222 Cleveland Ave. a nuisance property for high grass violations.
The trustees will meet next 4 p.m. Sept. 11.
