LISBON -- Former East Liverpool Mayor Ryan Stovall and his wife, Melissa, recently got in trouble again for failing to file city income tax returns in East Liverpool.
Ryan Stovall, 48, and Melissa Stovall, 50, both Orchard Grove, were each fined $1,000 for two counts each of failure to file city income tax returns for tax years 2021 and 2023. All of Melissa's fines were suspended, but all but $50 of Ryan's fines were suspended. Both were told to file all returns and make remittances for the taxes.
They both appeared recently in Columbiana County Municipal Court.
Both Stovalls had been each fined $500 in March 2021 in East Liverpool Municipal Court for one count each of failing to file city income tax returns. All of Melissa's fine was suspended, but all but $50 of Ryan's fine was suspended.
Ryan Stovall served as mayor of East Liverpool from 2016 through 2019 and previously served as a councilman.
