LISBON -- An East Liverpool man was flown from the scene of a one-vehicle crash in Madison Township Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon Post responded to the crash on state Route 7 near milepost 13 at 2:31 p.m. in which a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer was southbound and traveled off the west side of the roadway, striking a tree, fence, another tree, and overturned, partially ejecting the driver, Robert Householder, 76, of East Liverpool, according to the highway patrol.
Householder, who reportedly was not wearing his seatbelt, was partially ejected and had to be freed from the vehicle by firefighters on scene. He was flown to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown with serious injuries.
Assisting agencies on scene were St. Clair Fire and Police, Madison Township Fire, West Township Fire, Glenmoor Fire, Calcutta Fire and Life Team EMS.
The highway patrol is reminding everyone to "always buckle up, every trip, every time."
