Salem Named Tree City USA Once Again
Salem was once again recognized as a Tree City USA recently by meeting the program’s four requirements. Those requirements are maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, dedicating an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation. On Thursday, Joe Moeglin of the Ohio Division of Natural Resources Division of Forestry presented Mayor Cyndi Dickey and City Service Safety Director Joe Cappuzzello with signs to display throughout the city.
