Choose To Lose Group
Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on August 1 with Penny Perorazio presiding.
The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call. Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasure report. Both were approved as read.
Carolyn Hager was the Pearl's biggest loser. Fouse was the officer biggest loser. Diamonds in leeway are Jean Ferrebee, Dottie Seevers and Stephens. Ferrebee had three weeks weight loss.
The no no's are pizza and ice cream.
Stephens won the calorie charts. Pat Heacock won the dimes.
Winners of the No Fibbing Contest are Stephens, Perorazio and Fouse.
Fouse read an article on Genius Health Hacks.
A new contest started named Follow The Rules To Lose Weight. Perorazio presented a beautiful fall wreath she made. It will go to the winner in 6 weeks.
Perorazio closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord's Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays at 11 a.m.
TOPS 1341
Ohio Tops Chapter 1341 met Monday at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church with Leader Darlene Naukam presiding. The meeting opened with pledges and the roll-call.
Dorothy Garn was the Best Loser and Pat Allison was the Runner Up. They chose candy and ice cream as this week's Junk Food.
Drawing winners were: Garn – Calorie Chart, Allison – Weight Loss, Judy McComas – Junk Food, Naukam – 50/50.
Mary Gailey won the Check Contest. The 8 weeks in the Attendance Book were Cathy Wollam and Naukam. Becky Andrews will hold the Travel Box starting next week. Correspondence from the area Advocate and state coordinator was shared by Naukam.
Members in attendance received an amended copy of the club's bylaws and changes were unanimously accepted.
The meeting closed with The Lord's Prayer.

Winona Ruritan Club
The Winona Ruritan Club met July 25 at Winona Friends Church. President Rob Doyle Jr. called the meeting to order and led the group in the singing of "America."
Vice President Homer Althouse gave the Invocation. The caterer provided a meal of tossed vegetable salad with choice of dressing, spaghetti with meatballs, Italian bread, beverages and chocolate brownies.
Secretary E. Lee Stamp called the roll of members, with 18 being present. He then read the minutes of the June meeting and the July board of directors' meeting, with both approved as read. Treasurer Bob Doyle Sr. gave his May and June financial reports, which were also approved as given.
The club then sang Happy Birthday to the only member born in July - David Gilliss.
Doyle Jr. reported the club still had a few pounds of 1-pound bulk sausage to sell. Rob Donaldson of Horst Meat Packing has the club on his calendar for butchering hogs for the club's Oct. 14 all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast. The club will decide in September what number of patties and bulk it will want.
Michael Knoedler sent the tickets for the club's fall gun raffle with Doyle Jr. It is a Henry Made in America Big Boy Classic rifle in .45 Long Colt Caliber. The club will sell only 100 tickets at $20. The winning ticket will be drawn Oct. 24. See any Winona Ruritan Club member to buy tickets.
The club will make its final decision regarding the making of scrapple for October sales at its next meeting.
Everyone was encouraged to vote in the special election Aug. 8. Members were also reminded the Columbiana County Fair runs through Aug. 6 and the Canfield Fair runs Aug. 28 through Labor day, Sept. 4.
Hall Park will be holding an All Modified Garden Tractor Pull starting at 10 a.m. Aug. 12, with free admission for spectators.
Members are being asked for volunteers for the nominating committee for officers and directors for 2024. Anyone members willing to volunteer should let Doyle Jr. know.
The annual fall convention is scheduled for Nov. 18 at Paradise Church in Louisville. Any and all Ruritan members are invited to attend.
No other business came before the club. Everyone rose and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.
