Local authors to sign books at Museum of Ceramics during First Friday

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Local authors will be signing copies of their books at the Museum of Ceramics during the First Friday celebration Friday. They will be near the museum entrance from 5:30 until 7 pm. The museum will also be open during this time with no admission fees. The following authors will be present:
-- Cathi Keenan is author of "Clay: Homer and Shakespeare Start a Pottery." This children's book is a repetitive poem that explains how clay is transformed into pottery. The illustrations are photographs of Roland Schweinsburg's paintings. The paintings are part of the museum's collection, and the book was published by the Museum of Ceramics. The book is appropriate for children as well as adults.
-- John Washington Kitson is author of "Song of the Tree Frogs," a story about two brothers finding unconditional love after suffering through domestic violence from a vengeful father. It is also an award-winning motion picture. Another novel of his is "People from the Lake," a tale of horror surrounding a family who recently moved from the city to get their children away from city life. There they find themselves in a spiritual war with beings from the past.
-- Brian Little is the author of several books including "Gretchen," a retelling of local legends with twists and turns. "Chris Bowman Journals" is told from the perspective of an 8th-grade boy and "The Devil's Homecoming" completes the trilogy as evil visits old friends. "The Gretchen Chronicles" is a chronological compilation of the Gretchen trilogy.
-- Fred Miller is the author of several books including "Falling Under Honey's Spell" and "A Dead Carp on Shadyside Avenue," both collections of stories from his 700 columns written for The Review. Each book has 100 stories that feature real and humorous moments in the lives of his family.
-- Cathy Seckman is a prolific local author whose books include "Ohio Day Trips," a handy guide that is just perfect for summer vagabonds. "Images of America: East Liverpool" is a photographic history of the Pottery Capital of the Nation. Her other books are "H2O Mysteries," "Bad Moon Rising," and "Weirdo World."
