LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP --According to Trustee Dennis Giambroni during Tuesday's Liverpool Township Trustees meeting an abundance of calls on nuisance properties have been received.
Giambroni wants to remind residents to keep their properties maintained including vacant properties they own.
Trustee Mike Bahen went with the Health Department this week to look at six different properties that were considered nuisance properties or properties not maintained.
Bahen said the Health Department was going to step in and help the township on five of those properties. In addition, the township will be pushing the issue on high grass.
Fiscal Officer Shirey Flati mailed out two letters to owners of nuisance properties discussed at the previous meeting.
Bahen requested the police chief hand deliver a letter to one property owner whose yard is filled with cars. The owner has already been warned before about the cars. So, the chief will hand deliver the letter to give him 30 days to clear them out or the township will have them towed.
The trustees approved the adoption of two resolutions with all in favor votes.
The resolutions were to approve a new alternative spending method of apportionment of Local Government Fund monies to be distributed in 2024 and to approve the Revised Guide of Conduct of Liverpool Township Fire Department.
There were no amendments to the guide, other than the signatures to keep them current.
The trustees approved payment of warrants/bills totaling $47,758.77.
The fire department had nothing to report other than calls were down,
Police Chief Jared Kinemond reported that his cruiser is down and probably needs a new starter.
Road Department Supervisor Chris Bosworth indicated prep work was done for the paving work planned for Lantern and Candle drives. He also requested a purchase of air/heating units for the township garage. Trustees approved the purchase of two units.
Talks on purchasing a new backhoe have been tabled while the trustees review finance options.
The litter program removed 29 bags of litter from three roads in the township in one morning.
The Liverpool Township Trustees meet every other Tuesday at 3 p.m., in the Township Administration Building. The next meeting is scheduled for July 11.
