LISBON - The Lisbon school board Thursday evening approved several summer projects that will be completed with funds from a safety grant.
The board approved projects to be completed through a safety grant including the auditorium sound system by DC Music of East Liverpool at $9,800, key fob system by Radi-O-Sound Communication Inc. of Salem at $5,496.89, Safe Schools training by Vector Solution of Cincinnati at $950.09 and digital signage at the high school by LED Craft of St. Louis, Missouri, at $10,000.
In other business, the board approved the transfer of $12,932.28 from the General Fund to the Athletic Fund to cover the negative balance of $9,448.11 and outstanding purchase orders of $3,484.17.
Board member Charles Bell noted the amount is half of what it was last year.
Treasurer Jennifer Coldsnow confirmed his statement, stating "We did much better than last year."
The board also approved the renewal of the food service agreement with Nutrition Group Inc. for the 2023-2024 school year, the final year of the current five-year contract; a contract with Gardiner of Solon for heating and cooling at David Anderson and McKinley schools at a cost of $15,203 through June 20, 2024; an agreement with OME-RESA for advanced EMIS contracted services for fiscal year 2024 at $26,248 at a prorated amount for months used; and an agreement with North Star Critical Care for ambulance service for the 2023 football season as a donation of services.
Also at the meeting, schools Superintendent Joseph Siefke presented board President T.K. Hiscox with a Distinguished Board Member recognition from the Ohio School Boards Association for 10 years of service.
The next board meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. July 20 in the board office conference room.
