Library closed
East Palestine Memorial Public Library will be closed on Monday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
Purinton Hall
Purinton Hall on the Kent State East Liverpool Campus will reopen on Wednesday for regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The building was closed temporarily for upgrades to the electrical systems.
SR 45 closure
The state Route 45 closure will now start on Wednesday, June 21. State Route 45 will close three miles north of state Route 7 for 45 days for a culvert replacement project. The detour is state Route 7 north to U.S. 30 west, U.S. 30 west back to state Route 45, and reverse. The completion date is July 30.
Dahlia society
The Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will meet at 1 p.m. June 25 in Boardman Park 's Georgiana Parker Room. Discussion will include the Dahlia season for 2023, what tubers everyone bought last month and how they're growing thus far. The Holborn Herb Growers Guild will provide the program.
Summer yoga
606 Fitness will host a summer yoga series for children and their adults this summer, with the first session set for 10 a.m. June 24 in the Smucker House pollinator garden. This will be a fun beginners/gentle yoga session to help the kids and their caregivers stretch and warm up their bodies for the summer. Space is limited for this event so RSVP with Rae Oxley by June 21 at 330-831-8595. These sessions are open to children ages 5 through 12 and their guardian. A parent/trusted adult must attend with child. Cost is $20 per pair and $10 each for any additional children or adults. Bring own yoga mats or beach towels. Weather permitting it will be out in the garden behind the Smucker House; if there is inclement weather it will move indoors. Additional sessions will be held on July 22 and Aug 19.
Road closure
McCormick Run Road between state route 39 and Osbourne Road in Yellow Creek Township will be closed for six weeks for bridge deck repairs conducted by the Columbiana County Highway Department. The road will be open to local residences on either side of the project.
Eagles dinner
East Palestine Eagles #1506 will hold their monthly drive thru dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or sold out June 21. Dinner consists of sirloin tips and noodles, coleslaw, roll and dessert for $11 or $10 for those over 65 years. To pre-order call 330-886-0397 after noon or call or text 330-853-8483.
Wellsville council
The Wellsville Village Council meeting scheduled for July 4 has been rescheduled due to the Fourth of July holiday. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on July 5. Village council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month with the exception of a holiday at 6 p.m. in council chambers at the Wellsville Village Hall, 1200 Main St. The next meeting is June 20, followed by the one on July 5.
