EL Rabies Clinic
Rain or Shine, the East Liverpool City Health District will host in partnership with Community Animal Clinic and Drs. Sandy a Rabies Vaccination Clinic from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. The clinic, which will be held at the Westgate School entrance at 810 W. 8th St., is open to the public. Residents can bring both cats and dogs to the event and have them vaccinated at $10 an animal with no limit on the number of animals that can vaccinated. The animals must be at least 3 months old and restrained with a leash, harness or in a pet carrier.
South Range BOE
The South Range school board will hold a special meeting at 7 a.m. today in the board offices to consider the resignation of schools Superintendent Bethany Carlson, discuss the superintendent search with the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio (ESCEO) and to consider engaging the services of the ESCEO to assist the board with the search for a superintendent.
Madison Twp. tire drive
Madison Township will hold a tire drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the township garage for township residents only.
Star gaze at Scenic Vista Park
The Mahoning Valley Astronomical Society will host a star gaze from dusk until 11 p.m. Saturday at Scenic Vista Park in Lisbon. The event is free and open to the public. This event is weather dependent. Cancellations will be announced on www.mvobservatory.com.
Destiny House food outreach
Destiny House Church, 49345 Calcutta Smith Ferry Road, Calcutta, will host its monthly food outreach from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday. Limit of two families per vehicle; names and phone number of both families must be given. For information call 330-383-6971.
Salem AMVETS
Salem AMVETS will hold final nominations and election of new officers for the 2023-2024 calendar year Sunday. Bring membership cards to vote. The trustees meet at 10:30 a.m., executive committee at 11 a.m. and membership at noon.
Liverpool Twp. clean up
Liverpool Township will hold its community clean up day Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon, or the dumpster is filled, which ever comes first. The clean-up is for residents only, no businesses. No tires, batteries, electronics or appliances will be accepted. The collection site will be at the Township Administration Building located at 2485 Boring Lane.
United Day of Memory
United Local will hosts its annual Day of Memory at 10 a.m. May 27 at the United Local High School's Memorial Garden in front of the auditorium. The short service is open to the public, including friends and family of United students who were lost before they were able to graduate. This year's speaker is Alan Smearsoll of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. The high school Student Council sponsors the program, which concludes with the planting of flowers at the Memorial Garden in memory of those students who passed away over the history of United Local Schools, before having the opportunity to graduate. In the event of rain, the service will not be held, but flowers will be available for individuals to stop by and plant in the front of the auditorium.
