Vincent Road closure
Vincent Road in Salem Township will be closed for 10 weeks beginning Tuesday for a bridge replacement. The rood will be open to local traffic only on either side of the project. The $317,317 project is being completed by Shook Company LLC of Canfield with funding from Ohio Public Works and Columbiana County Engineer's Office.
EL council, committee meetings
The East Liverpool City Council Finance Committee will meet at 5:45 p.m. Monday in council chambers to consider the Phase 1 contract for Dresden Avenue project and legislation for the Thompson Park bathroom project. City council will then hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. for the second reading regarding a water rate increase and to authorize the Board of Control to execute a contract to the lowest and best bidder to make repairs to the Thompson Park restrooms, authorize the Board of Control to execute the Phase 1 Dresden Avenue project contract to the lowest and best bidder and consider the proposal to reinstate the Board of Public Utilities.
Salem Memorial Day parade
Salem Memorial Day parade applications are available now. The 2023 Memorial Day parade will step off at city hall at 10 a.m. this year and will make its way to Hope Cemetery on North Lincoln, concluding with a short program honoring all those who gave their lives serving in the United State Armed Forces. Those interested in participating in this year's parade can pick up applications at Salem Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892 on Arch Street, Salem AMVETS Post 45 on South Broadway, and at the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce office on State Street.
