Goshen special meeting
The Goshen Township trustees will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. Monday at the administration building. The original agenda has been altered to only include the hire of a part-time police officer.
Mile Branch egg hunt
Mile Branch Grange, 495 Knox School Road, Alliance, is sponsoring its 6th allergy free Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m. April 1. Mile Branch Grange members are hosting this event to provide a safe environment for children with food allergies or other health issues, who often miss traditional egg hunts to protect the child from possible reactions. A special area for children who need a quieter, calmer environment will be available.
There will be four age groups for children 0-14. Children need to bring their own basket or bag. The Easter Bunny will be available to take pictures with one's own camera. There will be no candy or food at the event. Eggs will contain small toys, stickers, coins, etc. There will be special eggs for larger prizes. All children are welcome to attend. The event will be held rain or shine, under roof if necessary. Dress for the weather.
Any one who attends is encouraged to bring gently used books to help restock the Little Free Library located next to the grange building. Adult and children's books are needed. Before and after the egg hunt, participants are encouraged to stop at the Little Free Library to pick up a book.

Raptor Hallow Eggstravaganza
Raptor Hallow Sanctuary, 11929 Beech St. NE, Alliance, will host its annual Eggstravaganza April 1 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Springtime activities for children of all ages and chances to meet the sanctuary's ambassador animals will be available. All proceeds will go for food and care of the sanctuary's animals. Members of Beech Creek are $4 and non-members are $8.
Mona McArtor Scholarship
Beaver Local, Lisbon, Salem, Sebring and West Branch are among area districts where high school students are eligible to apply for the annual Mona McArtor Scholarship given out by the Salem Quota Club. The $500 college scholarship is awarded to high school graduates pursuing a career in the speech/audiology or deaf education field. For information call Susan Jackson at 330-257-5420.
Salem clean-up day
The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce's Beautification Committee will be having its annual downtown clean-up day at 9 a.m. April 22. "We are hoping that many individuals, groups and organizations, will be able to help our committee clean up the downtown. After the winter season, the downtown needs spruced up," said Karen Carter Salem Beautification co-chairman. "Every year we are grateful for the volunteers who set aside a few hours to help give the downtown a fresh, clean look. Many activities are planned this year for the downtown area, and we want everyone to see what a beautiful downtown we have." Anyone interested in volunteering should meet at McCulloch Park next to Troll's Jewelry. Bring brooms, dustpans, gloves, leaf blowers, clippers and rakes. Label all personal items. Quakertown Super Kids
Quakertown Super Kids racer registrations will be accepted through April 7. Any special needs child between ages 7 and 18 are eligible to participate. The race is free. To register, email Janet Keene at janwel2002@yahoo.com. Send the child's name, T-shirt size (child or adult size), name and address and forms will be mailed. The only requirement is to be a available for two days - Practice Day May 13 for about an hour held at the Washingtonville VFW and Race Day held on Broadway Avenue in Salem on June 3 for the morning. Everything is provided including the cars which are controlled by 'ghost drivers' - competent young people - but the special needs child is the racer. Quakertown Super Kids will be sending three racers for an all expenses paid trip to the Super Kid's National, held at Derby Downs in Akron. Quakertown Super Kids a non-profit, incorporated, insured group. This will be the 16th year racing in Salem.
Eagles cooked pizza sale
Lisbon Eagles Auxiliary will hold a cooked pizza sale fundraiser Saturday. Orders can be placed starting at 11:30a.m. by calling 330-853-4525. Prices vary from $11 to $15 depending on toppings. Only 50 pizzas will be sold from noon to 4 p.m.
Book Nook overstock sale
The Second Chance Book Nook, 135 W. 5th St., East Liverpool, will hold an overstock sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 9a.m.-5 p.m. April 1. Hardbacks will be $1, softbacks 50 cents, and BOGO on children's, sci-fi, cookbooks and more.
FFMC yard sale
First Free Methodist Church, 16260 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 1. For information call 330-843-2129.
Banquet in Salem
Bob and Linda Sebo will sponsor the dine in and drive thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and peaches. Dine in will park behind the building and proceed to front door.
