New fire trucks arrive in Liverpool Twp.

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP--Trustee Mike Bahen announced at Monday's trustees meeting that both of the township's new 2023 fire engines have arrived.
The trucks, which will replace the 28-year-old trucks currently in use, will be provided to the LaCroft and Dixonville, the two fire departments that provide service to the township.
Bahen said the tank for Engine 23 for Dixonville needs to be replaced and the cost for that is estimated at $20,000. Bahen and Keith Burke voted to appropriate the funds for the replacement which comes with a lifetime guarantee. There was no vote from Dennis Giambroni who was absent from the meeting. The truck will be sent out for repairs on Monday and be out of service for 8-to-10 weeks.
Bahen and Burke also voted to approve two resolutions: one for supplemental appropriations to the general fund in the amount of $1,000 and one to amend a resolution passed in December for milage reimbursement.
During the trustees' reorganizational meeting held Dec. 13, the trustees voted on a resolution setting the milage rate for 2023 at 62.5 cents. According to Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati on Dec. 29, the IRS increased the 2023 mileage rate for business use to 65.5 cents. Bahen and Burke voted to increase the rate to from 62.5 to 65.5.
Bahen and Burke also voted to approve payment of bills totaling $49,738.60.
Additionally, Bahen and Burke voted to appropriate $3,000 from the township's ARP funds to upgrade the township's website. Currently only the township's IT person can add to the website. The trustees all agreed at a previous meeting they would like to have the ability to post photos and notices to the website as well. Flati said with the upgrade she would also be able to post meeting minutes which due to current website structure she is not able to do.
Flati said the township had received correspondence in the form of an email from Attorney Bret Hartup regarding CDL random testing and noted that the township already participates in CDL random testing.
In his report, Roads Supervisor Chris Bosworth said he was going to start order salt to finish up the township's contract. Burke noted that next year the township may need to think about their salt purchases as it appears they might not need as much due to possible having an abundance left over from this winter.
Liverpool Township Trustees meet every other Tuesday at 3 p.m., at the Township Administration Building. The next meeting will be held Feb. 21.
