On Monday, July 25, East Palestine’s Stayin’ Alive Cardio drummers performed at the East Palestine Memorial Public Library’s Movers & Shakers Storytime. Stayin’ Alive Drummers is made up of East Palestine area adults who get together one night a week and do cardio exercises using exercise balls, 5-gallon buckets, and drum sticks. Cardio drumming combines aerobic exercises with drumming movements and moving to the beat resulting in numerous health benefits. At the library performance, the group performed their routines to familiar children’s songs such as Baby Shark, I Know a Chicken, and Dance, Freeze, Melt to encourage audience participation. During the final number of the routine, the children participated with the library’s shaker eggs.
