LISBON — Charges were filed in Jefferson County against a Salineville area man stemming from an alleged sexual assault against a 16-year-old girl in 2019.

Anthony M. Abraham, 22, Township Highway 294, Salineville, is charged with rape, a first-degree felony and sexual battery, a third-degree felony.

According to the charges, Abraham allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with the girl in November 2019, during a time when she was unable to know what was occurring. Abraham would have been 19-years old at the time of the alleged assault.

The indictment was issued by the Jefferson County grand jury when it met this week. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Joseph Bruzzese at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Steubenville on June 8.
