Former Hall China property gets new owner
NEWELL, W.Va. — The former Hall China Company property on Anna Street in East Liverpool will have a new owner and presumably a new use.
HLC Holdings, Inc., the parent company of The Fiesta Tableware Company, announced on Tuesday an agreement has been reached to sell the former Hall China Co. property to East Liverpool’s NSF Holdings LLC.
The closing of the sale happened Thursday, May 26. According to the Columbiana County Auditor’s records the property sold for $1.5 million.
“We have not been utilizing the Anna Street property as a pottery since March 2021,” said Elizabeth McIlvain, President of The Fiesta Tableware Company in a press release. “After re-evaluating our processes and equipment needs, it was more efficient and cost effective to consolidate operations to our Newell, W. Va., headquarters. Being at one location enables us to produce our dinnerware more efficiently so we can distribute it to our customers’ tabletops faster.”
NSF Holdings LLC is owned by the Six family.
“We are excited for the development opportunities this site has to offer,” said Ray Six, one of the owners of NSF Holdings LLC. “It will take a lot of time and effort to convert this old pottery to usable space, but we are up to the challenge!”
“I’m glad we found a buyer who is local. The Six family has always been interested in the success of our community,” McIlvain said.
The HLC Holdings LLC company remains committed to continuing to manufacture Fiesta Dinnerware and its expanding product collection in Newell, WV, as it has been since 1936.
Six, who owns a recycling company, approached East Liverpool zoning officials for a variance earlier this year as the company considered purchasing the property. The proposal had drawn opposition at the time.
